The Training Committee (“TC”) is charged with giving the opportunity to members to continue to develop and maintain their competence as demanded by their professional roles and by users of their services. 

Promoting CPD, and its importance, is a vital component of the activities that a professional accountancy body undertakes to maintain its credibility and that of its members, demonstrating to members the value of CPD and its benefits to individual members in terms of career development, employability and credibility.


The TC reports to Council. The TC is comprised of volunteers from membership with the aim of having at least six members. The TC is chaired by a member of Council.


The TC holds regular meetings, at least quarterly to discuss action points to meet the committee’s objectives stated above. Matters requiring approval of Council will be put forth to Council by the Chair of the TC. The Chair will then report any feedback from Council to TC.


  • Devise annual training schedule based upon:
  1. Assessment of the training needs of CIIPA members via a consultative process and generally surveying member needs/wants for course topics and timing;

  2. Planning and coordinating course offerings;

  3. Seeking alternative service providers to meet the needs of members; and

  4. Coordinating events in conjunction with the CIIPA administration

  • Work with educational establishments, private training providers, private sector companies, Government and other professional accountancy bodies in the country /region to make available to members a wider range of CPD opportunities

  • Maintain and update the CG09 – Training Committee Charter
